For enhanced absorption, Quercetin UltraSorb is formulated with the ingredient called QuerceFit®. This “plant-based” technology combines natural quercetin (antioxidant-rich plant pigments) from both the Sophora japonica flower extract and the sunflower. This combination helps them to stay intact and not break down in the digestive tract, so that it’s available to support the body. In fact, a study compared QuerceFit® with regular quercetin and found that QuerceFit® improved the absorption of quercetin by 20-fold.‡

Quercetin is a flavonoid known for its support of cell health and the immune system. Research suggests that quercetin supports the function of SIRT1. This protein plays a role in the body’s process of cleaning out older cells to regenerate newer cells (called autophagy). Quercetin also increases the body’s antioxidant capacity in part by promoting healthy levels of glutathione, an antioxidant. In a pilot trial with adults, QuerceFit® supported antioxidant defenses and helped support respiratory function and nasal comfort. Other research suggests that quercetin helps to stabilize overeager mast cells (involved in immune responses).‡
